Considerations For Coverage

Considerations For Coverage

Here are some considerations regarding the performing arts: What types of coverage should we obtain? Can board members face legal action? Our company doesn't own a building; we rent facilities for our productions—what insurance should we acquire? Are volunteers protected? How much liability coverage is necessary? Is workers' compensation required? At Paczolt Insurance, we're here to provide answers to all of these questions.

We offer a range of insurance coverages, including:

  • General Liability
  • Property Insurance
  • Directors & Officers Liability
  • Workers Compensation
  • Liquor Liability
  • Business Interruption Insurance
  • Abuse & Molestation Liability
  • Special Events Liability
  • Non-Owned and Hired Auto Insurance
  • Electronic Data Processing Coverage
  • Employment Practices Liability
  • Special Equipment Coverage

General Liability

Many venues now request a Certificate of Insurance as part of their rental requirements. This certificate covers patrons' bodily injury and limited property coverage for third-party claims. It's important to note that this policy does not cover injuries to your employees, participants, volunteers, students, or company members. Additionally, it does not cover property your group owned, leased, rented, or borrowed.

Accident Policy

Many groups do not have employees but wish to assist participants, volunteers, or students in case of injuries. We offer an accident policy that covers medical expenses on an excess basis with no deductibles. Over 90% of our accident policies written last year had the minimum premium, with an average premium cost of $375.

Workers Compensation

State law requires organizations with two or more individuals classified as employees to carry workers' compensation coverage. Premiums are based on payroll and job classification. We need annual payroll figures, job classifications, and your FEIN to obtain a quote.

Directors & Officers Insurance

This insurance protects your Directors and Key Officers if they are personally named in a claim or lawsuit related to their activities within your organization. It necessitates an additional application and current financial statements for coverage evaluation.

Property Insurance

This coverage reimburses you for losses to your business assets and property. There are four distinct categories, each with its associated value:

  • Owned
  • Owned by Others (and in your organization's Care, Custody & Control)
  • Rented or Leased to your organization
  • Travels with your organization ("Inland Marine")

Please note that the typical property deductible is $1,000 per occurrence, so it may not be cost-effective to insure property valued at under $10,000.
